Aalish was educated on the Isle of Man and having obtained a degree in history, attended the College of Law in Chester receiving a commendation in her Legal Practice Course. She returned to the Isle of Man where she commenced her Articles under Dawn Jones at Carter Jones McDonald where she later became a partner until 2012.

In 2012 Aalish set up Hannan Law supported by Roger Kane and Louise Cooil.

Aalish has a wealth of experience in all aspects of family law, including divorce, separation, domestic violence injunctions, co-habitees and civil partnerships. She also has considerable experience in financial matters following separation including high net worth clients and complex trust structures and regularly appears in the High Court and Appeal Division in relation to such applications.

Aalish also deals with children applications, from parental responsibility, residence and contact to care proceedings and adoption. Aalish also successfully defended a case brought under the Hague Convention alleging unlawful removal of a child from Italy to the Isle of Man. Aalish is frequently instructed in applications to remove children from the Isle of Man on a permanent basis, usually to England, but other cases have included Ireland and the USA.

In addition to her family experience Aalish also has considerable experience in the criminal courts in the Isle of Man, and appears regularly before the summary courts, the court of General Gaol Delivery and the Appeal Division. Aalish also has extensive experience and an excellent record in successfully defending all types of cases including serious violence and serious drug offences.

Aalish is also a trained and qualified mediator.
